Holiday in Cornwall this Autumn

Autumn is one of my favourite times of year in beautiful Cornwall.  Everywhere is a little bit less hectic, beaches are quiet, as are the roads and best of all….the weather is mild.

There’s so much to do including visiting some of the biggest food festivals, exploring the Eden Project or Land’s End or enjoying the stunning coast.

China Fleet itself is situated on the banks of the River Tamar in Saltash, the area known as the ‘Gateway to Cornwall’.  But you don’t have to go too far to have a great time.  Along with our AA 4* self-catering apartments, we have our swimming pool, relaxing Aqua Spa, gym and racquet sports.  We are proud of our great dining areas, Brasserie, Lounge Bar and The Cabin Cafe & Bar, Woodland Fairy Trail, Woodland Adventure Golf and our 18 hole golf course and Toptracer driving range.

Without a doubt, Cornwall is glorious.  Here are some of my favourite things to do…

Wild Cornwall

One of the main reasons millions of tourists visit this stunning county every year for staycations, short breaks and half-term holidays are for the breathtaking, glorious beaches.  From long sandy beaches to intimate sheltered coves, Cornwall has more than 300 beaches.  From October 1st, dog bans are lifted so even the little pooch can enjoy it too.  The water temperature is often the same as it is in the summer so there’s no excuse not to take a dip or go surfing in the Atlantic ocean!

Historic Cornwall

Cornwall is filled with history and steeped in mystery just waiting to be explored. The centre of the county is dominated by Bodmin Moor where you will find Daphne Du Maurier’s famous Jamaica Inn.

The area is dotted with abandoned tin mines (think Poldark!) as well as castles and manor houses.  It’s also home to Tintagel Castle with its links to King Arthur set high on the rugged North Cornwall coast, offering dramatic views.

Beautiful Cornwall

With its mild coastal climate, Cornwall is home to some of the nation’s most spectacular gardens. From woodland gardens to sub-tropical glades including the iconic Eden Project, the famous Lost Gardens of Heligan and the stunning 26-acre Trebah Garden – I love them all!

So whether you’re looking for quiet golden beaches, the turquoise waters at Porthcurno, rugged Lands End, wild moors or the traditional Cornish villages and amazing food, you don’t have to go far.

Kernow a’gas dynergh – as we say here..’ Welcome to Cornwall’
